For Post 1: Degree in Electronics or Telecommunication or Science with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from a recognized university or Institute or equivalent.
For Post 2: Matric with Diploma in Electronics or Telecommunication, 10+2 or Intermediate with 50% marks.
For Post 3: Matriculation or equivalent, ITI in Electronics or Intermediate or 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
Selection Process For SSB:
Applied Candidates selection will be a basis on Bio-Metric Exam, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), documentation, written examination, trade test & medical examination.

Pay Rs. 200/- for SI, Rs.100/- for HC, ASI by DD/ Bankers Cheque/ IPO in favour of Inspector General, Frontier, HQ, SSB, Ranikhet SBI, Ranikhet Branch Code – 0704 for Post 1, 3 & Accounts Officer, SBI Chenikuthi Branch Code – 7976 for Post 2. No fee for SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen candidates.

In the wake of the Chinese conflict in 1962, it was felt that the borders of the country could not be protected with the force of rifles alone. It required the backing and resolute will of a committed border population. In addition, it needed an in-depth understanding and familiarity of the terrain as well as the culture and ethos of the border population. A need was, therefore, realized for the creation of a unique, unconventional yet specialized organization, which would function in the far, flung, vulnerable, strategic, remote, climatically and topographically difficult border areas and motivate the border population across several states towards the cause of protecting our national sovereignty.
